On Thursday 20th April 2017 at 8pm, Christiane Sanderson, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at The University of Roehampton will be delivering the first part of her webinar on Understanding Childhood Sexual Abuse. This webinar will help you to understand childhood sexual abuse and how ‘the body remembers what the mind cannot’. The session will enhance your awareness of how the trauma of CSA gives rise to emotional dysregulation especially hyper and hypo-arousal and how this manifests. This presentation will identify the link between complex trauma, somatisation and associated physical illnesses and mental health. specialist service provision. This masterclass will also highlight the importance of phased treatment and access to specialist service provision.

About the Speaker: Christiane Sanderson, Senior Lecturer in Psychology
Christiane Sanderson is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Roehampton. With 28 years’ experience working in child sexual abuse, complex trauma and domestic abuse. Christiane has run consultancy and training for parents, teachers, social workers, nurses, therapists, counsellors, solicitors, the Catholic Safeguarding Advisory Committee, the Metropolitan Police Service, the NSPCC, prisons and the Refugee Council.
Christiane Sanderson is the author of Counselling Skills for Working with Shame, Counselling Skills for Working with Trauma: Healing from Child Sexual Abuse, Sexual Violence and Domestic Abuse, Introduction of Counselling Survivors of Interpersonal Trauma, Counselling Survivors of Domestic Abuse, Counselling Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse 3rd Edition.
